About the Temple
Sri Renukayellammadevi and Muthyalamma Temple is a local devotional temple in Bellandur, Bengaluru, dedicated to Goddess Renuka Yellamma Devi and Goddess Muthyalamma both revered forms of the Divine Mother in South Indian folk and Shakti traditions. The temple serves as an important spiritual center for local devotees.
History
The temple holds strong cultural significance within the Vanniyakula community, whose members played a central role in establishing and developing it. According to the temple priest, the deity idol had been traditionally preserved and inherited within the community for generations.
Over time, devotees and elders of the community came together to construct a permanent temple for the sacred idol, transforming it into a shared place of worship. The temple trust and much of its development continue to be supported by members of the same community, reflecting a deep sense of cultural continuity.
Worship
